Our Policies

Breastfriends Cardiff and Vale’s charitable objectives are:

  • to promote and protect the physical and mental health of persons who have or have had breast cancer, their families, friends and carers in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and/or any adjacent local authority or NHS trust area through the provision of financial assistance, support, education and practical advice; and
  • to advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to breast cancer.

Breastfriends Cardiff and Vale currently envisages undertaking the following activities in pursuance of our Objectives:

  • the provision of information, advice, peer support and resources to assist Persons who have or have had breast cancer, their families, friends and carers;
  • the provision of financial support and/or other resources to organisations providing services and assistance to Persons who have or have had breast cancer, their families, friends and carers;
  • promoting research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer;
  • promoting improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer;
  • enabling Persons who have or have had breast cancer, their families, friends and carers to play an influential role in decisions regarding breast cancer services.

“Persons” means any persons who have or have had breast cancer, at any stage of their breast cancer experience, regardless of age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability or religious beliefs.
